Why investors look for a DealMachine alternative
DealMachine is a well-known driving for dollars app, and plenty of investors use it happily. But its public reviews on Trustpilot (3.6 out of 5 from 68 reviews when we checked in October 2026) show the same few frustrations again and again in the low-star reviews:
- Billing and cancellation. Reviewers describe charges they didn't expect and trouble cancelling.
- Features moving behind credits. Reviewers say tools they relied on were changed or now cost credits.
- Stale data. Owner and contact data that was out of date.
- Slow support. Replies that didn't solve the problem.
Those are individual customers' experiences, not something we can verify. If any of them sound familiar, here's how DealSherpa is set up differently.
How DealSherpa handles each one
Billing you can see and cancel
One plan, $99/month or $950/year. The checkout shows the exact day your first charge lands, and you can manage or cancel from Settings → Billing whenever you want.
No credit system
The lead feeds, lists and CRM are part of the plan. There are no data credits to top up. The D4D feed has fair-use daily allowances for downloads and address lookups, shown on your dashboard, so you always know where you stand.
Fresh records, dated
Probate leads come from county court filings, matched to the property the person who died owned, with the executor or petitioner to contact. Every lead shows its filing date. Virtual D4D shows the date of each house's street photo, and older photos are tagged.
Built by an investor
DealSherpa is built by a working investor who still buys houses every month and uses the same feeds. Questions go through the live chat on the site or to support by email.
When DealMachine is the better fit
We'd rather you pick the right tool. Stay with DealMachine if you need nationwide owner data today, want direct mail sent from inside the app, or depend on its API and Zapier connections for a large team. DealSherpa opens market by market, and Virtual D4D is live in St. Louis County and Charlotte right now, with probate and motivated-seller lists in more counties.
Switching takes a few minutes
- Start your 7-day trial. Card required, nothing charged until day 8.
- Pick your market. Open the D4D feed or the distressed lists for your county.
- Move your follow-up. Put your sellers into DealFuse sequences so nothing slips.
- Cancel the old account once you're happy, and keep a copy of your exports.
